so, i've been in Baltimore for about a month now, and I have to say that it is a great time...
the house i am living in is an extremely great time - really spacious and the location is prime [fell's point area of baltimore]. traffic can get annoying [as well as parking], but outside of that it has been really easy living in the city overall. everything is close to where i live - we walk to bars and restaurants without a problem. many people told me that the city was expensive - but honestly it's not that bad living here money-wise.
work has been...well, work. it really keeps me busy throughout the day and sometimes into the night. my workplace, unlike most engineering jobs, doesn't make it mandatory that you work overtime. they have a policy called "casual overtime" which basically says that you should not work more than 45 hours in a week without getting extra compensation, which is repectable. except they kinda expect you to push the limit and go for 45 every week. it isn't exactly great...but it is corporate...
outside of that, right now i have been going out quite a few nights every week hanging out with people i've met all over. it's been great so far...a good experience for sure. but one thing that has been sucking is my sleep schedule. i am still a night-owl, and the mornings are killing me. going to sleep at midnight to 2 and waking up around 6 every day will kill your ability to do menial work tasks like nothing else...but i will adjust. it just takes time for me to get used to being...well, abused.
later...
PS: post a comment. i guarantee i'll respond to it...
