Another quarter up

2005-11-28 : 1:44 a.m.

well, the quarter turned alright. 4.0 unless senior design turns awry. it will be interesting to see what happens with that...because, honestly, i don't know what to do for it. it's going to be interesting to see what we will be able to do with this project over the next 10 weeks...

tomorrow begins the new set of classes. i'm in a record low number of class hours though, which is completely awesome. i average ~3 hours of class a day (some of that lab). i can't wait...it will be awesome!

for the round-up on classes:

  • Intro to Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) - looking pretty standard. class with a lab, lecture, probably tests and some homework. not too terrible - i've definitely had worse.
  • Digital Signal Processing (DSP) - pretty much a continuation of one of the classes i took last quarter, but with more math and probably less fun (said no projects). i will prevail through it...mostly because i already have learned most of what is to be taught in the class...just i have to do it in formal math speak most likely.
  • Senior Design - suck. already talked about it...it's going to be a lot of work and random stuff that i don't know will give us what we want to know in the end for our "white paper". this could be several sleepless nights of writing at one point in the quarter...
  • Arabic Literature - classic? literature of the arabs. i've already done a good bit of the reading for this class, and i have to say that it will either be incredibly enlightening and depressing or very weird. i hope for the former, but i cannot say whether it will be or not. the class hopefully will be based mostly on discussion and such...

that's my class schedule. it's looking to be somewhat easy...definitely easier than most quarters i've had here at rose. tomorrow will hopefully reassert me in this. in addition to class this quarter, though, i hope to be able to work out some and get back in shape...because i've already lost most of what i gained this summer. damn engineering school work loads...

in other news, i've been looking for a job. no offers just yet, but i am optimistic in that i will find the right company that also finds interest in me. and let me tell you this...there are a lot of companies out there that i am interested in. and with my gpa...i'm pretty attractive to some companies. i just have to show that i am indeed more than an egghead. oh well...i'll save that battle for later in my mind...

today i got the urge to crack some locks. so, using some knowledge of "bumping" and random ideas, i've managed to open my deadbolt and standard lock with a couple of whacks and some repitition. awesome. i love it...this is the kind of stuff i just can't get enough of. hacking things is just awesome.

enjoy your evening gents. i am about to retire and then head off to class...l*r
