School starts....[sigh]

2005-09-01 : 1:32 a.m.

school begins tomorrow, or should i say today? i don't really care...for some reason i'm just apathetic to about everything right now. i have always been able to understand how most people don't want to grow up and graduate and get "real" lives. but now i can sympathize out of experience...

cleaned out the volleyball pit today...which was punishment that i haven't dealt with in some time. pulling weeds...especially of that size! holy crap...i think our idea of sowing the sand with salt is a great idea...especially if we won't have to do that again!

outside of all that...i don't really have much to say. the room is pretty much put together. we have a bit of work to do in terms of cleaning up, and i'm planning on building a table for us to use in front of our couch...but yeah. that's all i got. i think i'm going to be in a world of hurt with my classes this quarter. there are a few saving graces, but i am pretty sure that most of them will work me to death...alongside with what else i'm involved in. a list of things i have to expect:

• ECE460 - Senior Design: ok, so i don't have a project to work on yet...and i also have no idea what i'm supposed to do for this class at all. but...it is a year long course where you carry some sort of design project on from start to finish.
• ECE351 - Analog Electronics: analog = !(1 or 0)'s. therefore, i'm pretty sure it is evil and also requires way too much work. despite this...i'm pretty pumped about learning everything all over again in terms of circuitry. maybe i'll walk away with more than just a couple of thoughts from this class...
• ECE497 - DSP System Design: this class is honestly what i am looking forward to. why? because there's some sort of a feeling i get when thinking about DSP stuff. most of you all out there think DSP what? digital signal processing. simply put, doing stuff to signals...usually for interpretation and such. i simply can't wait to get to doing things and learning about how to manipulate those 1's and 0's to do cool shit (image/sound especially). in addition to this class, the professor is planning on opening another 2 credit course that covers more hardware design for DSP stuff...which i plan on taking if i have the time and....well, if i feel like it.
• ECE551 - VLSI Design and Testing: yeah...i don't know what i was doing when i signed up for this one. but alas, i might just like VLSI stuff (although i've heard it stands for something like "very little sleep"). i'm not going to be surprised to see myself working way too much for this class...
• RUSH - just your normal 7 week long rush going on over here...with lots of time consuming activities and normal rush stuff. but i decided to stick my neck out and say i'd be a floor captain under academic master vRoz. so...in addition to figuring out if someone should rush us, i'm pretty much in charge of who we should rush for one floor. it's pretty sweet...and i can't wait to get out there and go for it.
• TBP & HKN: two officer positions that will surely require some sort of time...and most likely some sort of a weekend dedication time for working on "projects" (comunication to nationals...) and other pains in the neck. and did i mention your standard endless supply of meetings? because they're there as well...
• a job: i'm going to go broke this year...finally. so i have to start pulling in a bit of money. even if only a couple of bucks a week, it will definitely help out with food and books and such.

as for now...i'm going to prep for bed and just get ready to [sniff] go to scool. fuck....i thought summer would last longer. and indeed, i wished it had.
