The Princess Bride, Immobilized

2005-08-08 : 11:28 p.m.

it's been some time since I sat and worked at my desktop. and man, is it enjoyable. like being back home after a road trip. safe and comfortable. awesome...

on the other hand, i've been up to a bit lately. work has been steady (although i'm doing a bit more parts/assembly than i'd like to...), and outside of work things are great. my knees still suck (found via running again), and my shoulder still kills me during lifting (created trying to "stack" the butterfly machine, junior year of high school), but all else is good.

i hosted a movie night over here tonight, and it was good. The Princess Bride was the flick, and i think that most of the people liked it. most thought they hadn't seen it until they were half-way through, at which point it was like "oh yeah! i have seen this." but man, does that movie kick ass. i'm a big fan of these two lines:
"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."
and
"There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world. It would be a pity to damage yours."
it's a classic. if you haven't seen it, see it. it's a bit childish and fairytaleish, but altogether a good movie.

on another note, i've had this whacked reoccuring dream for about 5 years. and man, does it freak me out. so, i'm sleeping, and i wake up (in my dream). and i can't move. i can't move anything. i try with all my might, but not a damn thing will move - arms, legs, fingers, toes. nothing. and then i'll just sit there. in the bed i'm sleeping in (which is oddly enough always the same bed i'm actually sleeping in). then...well, i just lay captive. i don't know what kind of cruel internal workings my mind has in it to drive it to this dream, but every time i have this dream, i am just about petrified. losing the ability to move everything...holy shit. it's a scary feeling. numbness everywhere...

well, i'm off to go to bed. i finished the hunt for red october last night and am on my way to graduating gentleman status via the modern gentleman. all good books...

later, El Wojo
