New Classes; or the Sub 680 Word Post

new classes have begun. and damn. what was i thinking when i signed up for these bitchin' numbers? here's the list:

ECE300 - Signals and Systems: my first class of the day (usually). So far, my feelings towards this class are impartial. i realize that there's a lot of stuff i have to learn in this class...i just hate the fact that our prof is going to make us do EVERYTHING by hand. if you've ever had to solve a second order DE 3 different times with different values substituted throughout, you'd know why maple (or just about any computer aided assistance) is a godsend. because on my first homework i've had to do just that. and that's just the first HW!!! not to mention the fact that he's pretty anal about a few things (mostly his list of things with "You fail if..."), but oh well. i plan on this to be my first B...

CSSE332 - Operating Systems: Chidanandan once again. the same prof from Computer Architecture from last quarter. so far, this class hasn't been too ridiculous, with us all having to learn C in 3 days to make some whack program (plus it doesn't help that she's telling us how to do EVERYTHING wrong in the class as far as writing code syntactically correct...and in C, if you write it, it will do it. it doesn't pansy around and say "no, i can't do this." it does it.). This course looks to be interesting, i just hope things don't keep escalating like they have...y'know, with me learning one language in less than a week already...

RH330 - Tech Comm: ok. my hummer for the quarter. so far, i've been doing ok, and i feel like i'll like this course a lot more than anything else rose could offer me as far as hummers go. after one week, i've already had to write two somewhat small assignments for turning in, but none of it was torture. i have to say that the lectures that professor house throws down are pretty entertaining...but it's still a writing class, which means that i may just end up hating it because of some biased standard that the prof has. from what i've gathered though, professor house is the man...which makes life all the better for me.

ECE333 - Digital Systems: ok, i have the bitch again. the woman that made me dislike rose classes back in my first set of classes here at rose is my prof for this class. she has not changed...and if anything, she has gotten worse with her choice of english words (how the fuck can you consistently choose "which" over "what" in all cases? "Which do you call this?" ARRR!!!). aside from that, i haven't taken one of the pre-reqs for this class, which urks me a bit, but we don't actually start utilizing any of that info until later on in the quarter...say about week 6 or 7. which scares me...because if i drop the class then, i don't get class credit but i do get a big fat ZERO on my record. i suppose that's what grade replacing is for though...

ECE361 - Engineering Practice: Wow. a class that makes me smile. on the second day of class, we watched a movie that starred john fucking cleese. how awesome is this? better yet, the title was something like "meetings, bloody meetings". i enjoyed it thoroughly. currently, we have already been formed into groups and my group, i am pleased to say, looks to be promising. i already know one of the members, and the other two are decent guys. i feel that this class will be the icing on the cake for my quarter...because when the professor addresses you as "Mr. Consonants", it makes life better after all...

well, that's the run-down on my 18-credit hour suicide winter quarter. i have more to write...but i just wanted to get that off my chest...and as it is about past my bedtime...i should get some sleep. later...
